A day in Sydney, Australia

SydneySydney was like a distant dream for me when I started with the ‘walkabout’ back in September (UK, Thailand and Australia). After a hard try to get an opportunity to explore Sydney, I just got 1 day. As I was towards the end of my journey, I was almost out of money. But I was determined to at least visit some of the budget as well as free destinations in Sydney. And my journey began for spending my worthy 24 hours in one of the most livable cities of the world. I wanted to explore as many places within just 24 hours in the largest as well as most historic city of Australia.

Much part of Sydney is built about the epic harbor lined with different beaches, hidden bays, dotted with islands. I simply took a Sydney harbor for seeing various spots surrounding the city. Sydney was full of enjoyment with vibrant street side cafes, galleries, eclectic museums and many more along with excellent bars, restaurants and pubs. If done right, Sydney is also a perfect destination for a budget traveler, without spending large sums of money.

No trip to Sydney can be complete without visiting the iconic site of the Sydney Opera House. I really got to see what a miraculous piece of architecture it was! Then I went to the Sydney aquarium with almost cheap admission fee and an awesome realization of what it feels watching the sharks swimming and eating fishes. There were numerous different lobsters, seals, fishes, crocodiles and eels, though scarce but were very much interesting. I was also keen in actually seeing the place which the residents of Sydney love more than the Opera House, the Harbor Bridge. I appreciated more when I walked across the pedestrianized side of this giant bridge. As I have a fear of height, I didn’t even dare to walk up the bridge and get an epic view of the city. But, even from where I was standing, it was really breathtaking!

Due to my low budget and less time spam, I was just able to experience few places of Sydney, but it was so enjoyable, beautiful and dynamic that I would have easily spent a week or more in exploring it. In just 24 hours, I came to know much about this city that too without blowing my budget. In short, my budget trip to Sydney turned out even better than I expected.
