While I was planning my trip to Singapore, my friends warned me that it was a very expensive place and I should completely drop the idea (considering my financial situation that had turned from bad to worse). I had left my last job around 1 month back and it was my 3rd one in the last 7-8 months. Before looking for a new job, I had decided I would go to a faraway place, relax and come back refreshed and stress free. So, the faraway place that I fixed upon was Singapore. Considered as one of the expensive travel destinations that I was going to visit on a tight budget, the small island Singapore has lots to offer.
Visit to Singapore
Tokyo – One of the Busiest Cities in the World
While on my journey to Asia, I explored many places in Asia like Vietnam, Thailand which were cheap travel destinations. An added benefit of visiting these places apart from learning new culture was that I could also save some money at these places. I did not expect that I will be able to save some dollars and had unwillingly excluded a visit to Tokyo from my trip. Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities and with my tight budget while travelling to Asia; I could not even consider travelling to Tokyo. But luckily as I was able to save some more during my trip to other Asian countries, I decided to visit Tokyo at the last moment.
New York
New York and budget travel seems to be a paradox as New York and I was experiencing this weird situation. New York had always attracted me and I found a 3 days holiday as a perfect time to visit this fascinating city. It is said that ‘It is easier said than done’ and I found it really true as planning a trip to New York sounds too simple. But the problem lies ahead as I was facing financial trouble and was planning a trip to one of the most expensive cities in the world. At the end of the trip, I realized that there is a common misconception among travelers like me that New York is not a destination for budget travelers.
